We went deep on quarterbacks yesterday, but today I want to go back to my Senior Bowl scouting roots and dive into the position groups and under-the-radar prospects that stood out in an especially physical Wednesday practice. We’re also going to spin the conversation forward a bit and discuss how what I’ve seen in Mobile has shaped my opinion of the 2026 class as a whole, with updates to my working draft tiers at wide receiver and edge.

If you missed any of our instant-reaction shows this week, be sure to check them out on Spotify, where we’ve got tons of practice footage from the field that you won’t want to miss.

One more programming note before we dive in: The McShay Show will be on Netflix beginning next Monday. Look for us on that platform and get ready for a loaded slate of draft coverage coming your way over the next two months.

My working wide receiver draft tiers: Plus, what I’m seeing from one emerging star and two small-school sleepers.

My working edge draft tiers: The latest on where T.J. Parker, Zion Young, and Derrick Moore rank in one of the deepest 2026 position groups.

Two underrated running backs turning heads: There’s a lot to like about Indiana’s Kaelon Black and Clemson’s Adam Randall.

Five defenders to know: Quick thoughts on two linebackers, two safeties, and one interior defensive lineman that made waves on Wednesday.

Quote of the day: This one comes from a National team defensive backs coach.
